With GBWC in the rear view mirror, it's on to the next project! A while back I showed my wife a photo of a Qubeley painted to look like an image of a galaxy and she loved it. I offered to try to make her one like it, and she liked the idea so I told her I'd do it for her birthday (in early August) so here we go! Oh, this will also be my entry for the Hobbytown USA Grand Prix in August. The kit is an HG Revive Qubeley. This build will pretty much be all paint. I have some ideas for a few metallic part mods, but we'll see where we end up.

I replaced 2 parts with metal braided wire, and it looks pretty good. They're not held in place, so I still have to figure out a way to attach them.

Ok, this simply will not do! Why would 2 hoses be connected?

A little snip snip and it looks much better.

Ugh! This is why you should snap a kit together before you start modifying it. I glued the shoulder together and left a poly cap out.

I couldn't jam it in, and I wanted the arm to keep its mobility so I cut the peg out and put it on he poly cap. Then I wedged it back in the shoulder.

Wow, good as new! It fits so snug that I didn't even have to glue it. I love it when a plan comes together!

Here she is, nubs removed and all snapped up! I really like this kit, it looks great just snapped without paint or anything. Lots of color separation, which will be nice when it comes time for paint :)

Plenty of detail in the shoulder binder things (whatever they're called).

I should get around to priming and sanding this weekend, then tackle the paint next week. That's it for today. Until next time, keep on building!
